Oral Contribution

Selection of oral presentation will be based on originality, innovation and state of development of the research (not a review article). Totally, 28 oral presentations will be arranged. A period of 15 minutes (12 minutes talks + 3 minutes discussion) will be provided for each speaker. Please present:

  1. Your presentation file (power point format) in a USB memory OR
  2. Your own computer to the file registration counter at the conference hall for at least 2 hours prior to the presentation.

Poster Contribution

An area of 80cm(W) x 120cm(L) will be provided for each poster. To emphasize the importance of poster presentations, the best poster award will be arranged. Due to the high cost needed to rent a poster panel, the organizing committee would like to limit the number of poster to be 1 poster/participant. Pin and tape for holding a poster with a panel will be provided at the registration desk.

Call for abstracts

Research dealing with NIRS and its applications are welcome to our meeting, both as oral and as poster presentations. The tentative sessions are as follows;

Agricultural, Food, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Polymer, Chemistry, Basic Science and Advance Technology

During the period of June 1 - July 15, 2008, please send your 1-page abstract (download template here ICON:MS Word) to Sirinnapa Saranwong (Mui) at sirinnap@affrc.go.jp Please use the *.doc or *.rtf file for submission and please indicate the corresponding author in your e-mail. The selection results for oral presentation will be sent to each auther by the end of July.

Manuscript submission

After getting the selection result, please submit your manuscript by e-mail or by post (diskette) to the Secretariat office (Dr. Sirinnapa) by August 31, 2008.

Template Please prepare your manuscript using the template provided. Click here for template.
File The manuscript submitted must be in digital format. Please use word file (.doc or .rtf file). The new *.docx file is not acceptable.
Length

The limitation for length is varied depending on the type of presentation. Kindly follows the instruction to allow the smooth preparation of the Proceedings;

  1. Keynote speaker, Karl Norris Award winner: Maximum 10 pages
  2. NIR Advance Award winners: Maximum 6 pages
  3. Country presentation: Maximum 6 pages
  4. Company presentation: 2 pages
  5. Oral presentation: 2 pages
  6. Poster presentation: 2 pages
Contents Please provide Title, Author, InstitPlease provide Title, Author, Institution with e-mail address, Abstract, Keywords and the content of your research, especially (a) Introduction, (b) Materials and Method and (c) Results and Discussion.
Page setup The manuscript must be prepared onto A4 page with the marginal setup of 2.5 cm for all sides (top, bottom, left and right). Single line space must be used. Skip one line between (a) Title and Author, (b) Institution and Text (First Heading).
Fonts

Please use Time New Roman. Please refer to the following instruction;

  1. Title: 16pt, bold, centering;
  2. Author: 12pt, bold, centering
  3. Institution: 12pt, regular, centering
  4. Heading A: 10pt, bold, left alignment
  5. Heading B: 10pt, bold, italic, left alignment
  6. Text: 10pt, regular, left alignment
  7. Captions: 10 pt, regular, left alignment
  8. Table: 10 pt, regular, left alignment (Column name should be bolded)
Figure/Graph Figure and/or graph must be inserted on separated page (Page 2) or under or over the text. (Please do not insert Figure or Table in between text). Please use Table (without grid) to pair Figure and caption. Caption must be provided under each Figure and over each Table.
References Please follow the instruction for preparing reference of Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy. The Author guideline is available at: http://www.impublications.com/JNIRS_Authors_Guide.pdf ICON:PDF. However, if the space is not enough, the title of reference can be omitted.
